1 Anson Claxton is first found in Sumner County, TN March 28, 1809 when he purchases 25 ac. of land from James Winchester, he then appears in the 1809-1812 Tax List; he gives possession of 25 Ac to John Stamps by 1-Dec-1814 apparently moving; perhaps aka Anderson Claxton  
2 Nancy Claxton  
+ m: John Bachelor in 1813 in Wilson Co., TN;  
2 Hiram Claxton b: abt. 1797-98 in NC; 1820 Franklin Co., TN Census show one son and one dau. Under 5 years old; 1830 Maury Co, TN Census shows them living near John and Nancy Claxton Bachelor (Hiram's sister);  he is listed in the 5th district of the 1836 Bedford Co., TN Tax List; 1840 Bedford Co., Census show six chilrden; 1850 Lincoln Co., TN Census list him with 5 children and both Hiram and Martha are born in NC.  
+ m: Martha "Patsey" Steele on Oct. 28, 1817 in Christian Co. KY with Anson Claxton and John Steele securities; b: NC  
3 Mary Claxton age 32 in 1850 Census  
+ m: Wesley Clanton on April 18, 1858 in Franklin Co., TN;  
3 John Claxton is thought to be Hiram's son as he fits the 1820 and 1840 Census records and was living in Fosterville and later moved to Bedford Co., TN;

3 Thomas Claxton age 19 in 1850 Census; served in Co. E, 23rd Bn., Tennessee Infantry CSA;  
3 Dolly Claxtonage 14 in 1850 Census

3 Rushia Claxton (male) age 12 in 1850 Census; d: Dec. 29, 1862; served in Co. E, 23rd Bn., Tenn Infantry CSA;  
+ m: America J. Nash on June 5, 1858 in Franklin Co., TN;  
3 James Claxton age 6 in 1850 Census; James and John are thought to be Hiram's sons as James was missing in the 1860 Census;  according to his brother John whom he was living with in the 1860 Census, James was a Confederate soldier killed in the war; 1st Regt. Tennessee Vols.
